A quiet wedding was celebrated at the Catholic Church, this morning, by Father T. McKenna, when Mr Terrence Shortt, eldest son of Mr J. Shortt, of Inverca'rgill, was married to Miss Margaret Ethel Wallace, second daughter of Mr A. A. Wallace, of Manaia, Taranaki. The bride, who was attired in cream cashmere, was given away by Mr R. A. Millett, and Miss Bessie Wilson dressed in white embroidered muslin with hat of black and white chiffon, attended as bridesmaid. Mr W. Eccleton acted as best man. After the ceremony the wedding breakfast was partaken of at the residence of Mr R. A. Millett. Mr and Mrs Shortt left by the 12.30 o'clock train for Auckland and Rotorua, where the honeymoon is to be spent, the bride being dressed in a neat tailor-made costume of navy blue, with hat of cream trimmed with pink roses. Mr Shortt, has been on the indoor staff of the local railway station for some two years, is a well known sportsman, he having played for the Pahiatua Cricket and Football Clubs, and was one of the "Bush" football representatives.
