A wedding which evinced a deal .of interest amongst the numerous relatives and friends of the bride and bridegroom took place at the . Salvation Army Barracks this afternoon, when Ensign Florrie Spurdle, eldest, daughter of the late Mr Wm. A. Spurdle, was united in the holy bonds of matrimony to captain Wm. P. Kenah, eldest son of Mr J. W: Kenan, of this town. The Barracks, which were tastefully draped with art muslin, were crowded to the doors, amongst the guests being relatives and officers from different parts of the North Island. Major Spargo (of Wellington) conducted the Service, the Rev H. R. Dewsbury being also present. The bride, who was given away by her brother, Mr W. H. G. Spurdle, was attired in the usual navy blue costume, relieved with a white silk sash. The bridesmaids were Misses Ivy, and Eva Spurdle, sisters of the bride. They wore dresses of white delaine, trimmed with whites muslin and satin ribbon, and picture hats to match, also carrying handsome bouquets. The bride was also attended by two little maids, Misses Edith and Bessie Harford (cousins of the bride), who were daintily dressed in nun's veiling, trimmed with satin bands, and silk hats to match, also carrying baskets of flowers. At the close of the ceremony Miss Mildred Wallace presented the bride with a handsome shower bouquet, the gift of Mr John Wallace. After the ceremony, the guests were entertained by Mrs Spurdle at her residence, Mathieson Street, where the usual toasts wore proposed, and the wedding presents, which were valuable and numerous, were inspected. This evening the bride and bridegroom are to be entertained at a banquet given by the local corps. We join in wishing Captain and Mrs Kenah a long and prosperous wedded life.
