On Wednesday, 26 April 2006, at Waitakere Hospital; in his 74th year, Charlie passed away bravely, in the presence of his family. Much loved husband of Ngamihi; father of Nanette, Kerin, Allan, Michael and Jason; father-in-law of Alec, Karsey, Annie and Tessa; and grandfather of his mopst special grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Dean, Phyllis, Phillip, Michelle, Nan, Douglas, Jeanie, Crystal, Gorgina, Chanelle, Hayden, Pamela, Alexia, Jordyn, Jessica, Jaclyn and Daniel. Charlie battled his illness for such a long time and is now at peace. He will always be in our thoughts and in our hearts. A service to celebrate Charlie's life will be held on Saturday 29 April, at 10 AM, atthe Waikumete Services Cemetery Chapel, Auckland. - Published 28 April 2006 in the New Zealand Herald.
