Wednesday 2 Aug 1911, page 6 - The suicide of Mrs. Mary Nelson at her residence, off Dominion Road, on. Monday, was inquired into by the Coroner (Mr. T. Gresham) yesterday afternoon. The evidence showed that the deceased had inhaled gas by placing the rubber pipe attached to a gas ring in her mouth. When found she was dead and the room smelt strongly of gas. The post-mortem revealed traces of gas throughout the body, which was otherwise healthy. The verdict of the jury was that death was caused by gas self administered.
