Edith Burns, the first wife of John Alexander McKane Wallaces son William John died young at the age of 23 and he later remarried. I had thought that they had no children but I have just found an entry for her burial in the old Heads Road Cemetery here in Wanganui and discovered that she is buried with a small child named Ethel Wallace. Ethel is listed as the infant child of John Wallace of Turakina (William John) who died 5 Dec 1897 aged 3 years 2 months.
