SUDDEN DEATH AT ORMOND. A sudden death occurred at Ormond yesterday. Mrs Sarah Ann Cameron, who arrived from South last Wednesday on one of her periodical visits to her relatives, was staying with Mrs A. McKenzie, and while laughing and relating stories of the early days, she suddenly collapsed, and passed away, hemorrhage of the brain being the cause of death. The deceased lady was 74 years of age. She was in her usual good health when she arrived on Wednesday, and her sudden demise came as a great shock to her friends. The late Mrs Cameron was born in Southland, and her husband, Mr Wm. Cameron, predeceased her some years ago. Latterly Mrs Cameron had resided at Ashhurst, frequently visiting Gisborne to stay with her daughters, Mrs A. J. Cameron, Mrs D. P. Cameron, and Mrs A. McKenzie. She also leaves another daughter, Mrs Fraser, of Ashhurst, and a son, Mr Donald Cameron, of Gisborne. Much sympathy will be extended to the relatives in their sad loss. The funeral will leave Mr A. McKenzie's residence, Ormond, at 2 p. m. to-morrow for the Makaraka Cemetery. - publised 2 December 1912 , page 5 - [S530] Gisborne District Council Cemetery Record Search, (Gisborne District Council, Gisborne).
