Mrs J. Macfarlane, of Coldstream, who died on Friday night, ranked among tho very earliest colonists, having arrived in Wellington with her father, Mr Donald, Cameron, in the ship Blenheim, in 1841. Seven years later she married Mr John Macfarlane, who had landed in Nelson in 1842, and afterwards removed to Wellington. They then removed to Coldwhere Mr Macfarlane died in 1884. Mrs Macfarlane was highly esteemed for her benevolence and other good qualities. She has left six sons, Messrs M.
