The remains of Mr. Wallace's daughter were yesterday accorded a Salvation Army funeral, the first of the kind, we believe, in Hawera. A large number of people congregated. The coffin was borne on shoulders, and the female portion of the army chanted from the house to tbe grave. White badges were worn by the army. At the grave "an impressive address was given by Captain Astley, assisted by the lieutenant. In the evening a memorial service was held in the barracks, there being a large attendance.
