Headstones Headstone - Ellen and John Walllace
This memorial now stands where the First Cemetery of Eketahuna stood to recognise those buried. A report dated 29th March 1969 states that Councillors Golder and Trevelyan visited the Alfredton Rd site to carry out an inspection of the graves prior to their clearance and subsequent closure of the cemetery.Memorial - Ellen and John Wallace

Original headstone inscription: In loving memory of Ellen Wallace (Neillie) who departed this life Aug 22 1896 aged 4.03 years. "A precious one from us is gone. A voice we loved is stilled. A place is vacant in our home which never can be filled". Also John, third son Of John H. and Ellen Wallace who accidentally met his death at Rakanui, Monday July 12, 1909 aged 24 years. "In the midst of life we are in death (remainder illegible).
