  Headstone - John A and Theresa Paton In loving memory of John Archibald, beloved husband of Thersa Paton, died 1st Jan 1922 aged 59 years. "For He shall give His angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all ways". 11th Verse 91st Psalm. Also, Theresa, his beloved wife, passed on 13th March 1927 in her 65th year. "He shall cover thee with his feathers and under His wings shalt thou trust, His truth shall be thy shield and buckler". 4th Verse 31st Psalm.

He has been resident in Christchurch ever since. Mr Paton was interested in racing, being a member of the Canterbury Jockey Club. He was a member of the Federal Club, and was interested in several building societies. He leaves a widow and six children.
