Evening Post, Volume LII, Issue 74, 19 August 1896, Page 5. Local and General. This afternoon the remains of an old and worthy citizen of Wellington, Mr. Henry Truemau, sen., who died on Monday at the age of 81, were interred at the Karori cemetery. Mr. Trueman came to Wellington from Liverpool 39 years ago in the ship Alma, and he has lived here ever since, carrying on his trade as a bootmaker in Cuba-street and Abel Smith-street for the last 21 years. In the days of Provincial Government Mr. Trueman took an active part in local political movements, and for his excellent personal qualities he is mourned by a large circle of friends.
