Hawera & Normanby Star, Volume XLII, Issue 7526, 29 July 1902, Page 3. RIVERLEA. (FBOM OUR OWN CORRESPONDENT.) PRESENTATION TO MESSRS WHYTE AND BULST. A social was held in the school on the 25th inst., when an opossum rug was presented to each of the above-mentioned gentlemen, who are leaving the district. In Mr Bulst, Riverlea is losing one of its oldest and much respected settlers. Mr and Mrs Bulst came to Riverlea about eighteen years ago, and had come very rough times in the early days, when the place was all standing bush. They have always been to the front whenever assistance was needed, either public or private. It is mainly due to Messrs Bulst and Whyte, and two or three other settlers, that the school ground is in such a creditable state, considering ihe short time they have had it under control. - [S19] S.
