This poem was published by Coralie McKellar in the Triad magazine. "Songs of the Sydney Slums" were published monthly in the Triad during 1921 and 1922. This poem was the fifth in the monthly series.

The full title of the Triad, a monthly publication sold in Australia and New Zealand, was The Triad : a journal devoted to literacy, pictorial, musical and dramatic art.
